Default 05 4x4 problem

I purchased an 05 f150 a few months ago. When I got it I had the dealer (a chevy one) put new tires on it. I figure they must have nocked down the little vacume hoses that go to the hub. They wore through on the wheel. When I noticed this i called them and tried to force them fix it, but they said it had been too long and I had no proof that they did it, so I patched the hoses myself. Now about a month later, every so often I hear what sounds like one of those little party noise makers, the ones you spin and that click rapidly, This noise comes from the side i "fixed" and goes away when I pop it in 4x4. I was wondering what could be wrong and what I would have to do to fix it. I would like to do it this weekend because I actually have time. Thank you in advance for any information.

Ok not to bore everyone with what happened or how I figured it out, but because of what happened I now need a new 4x4 hub, the part that uses the vacume topull it in and out,for the passenger side, I was wondering if anyone could give me the part number for this. Also if anyone knows why there seems to be nothing on all data for thiis part of the truck I am curiouse.

Default RE: 05 4x4 problem

When in 2WD, the 4x4 module (PCM control) supplies a groundcontrol pathto the IWE/integrated wheel endsolenoid to apply vacuum to the integrated wheel end/s affectively disengaging the front hubs from the front halfshafts. In 4WD mode, the 4x4 module doesn't supply the ground path as before tothe IWE solenoid, vacuum isn't applied to the integrated wheel ends and an internal spring keeps the front hubs/front halfshafts engaged.. If you had a damaged vacuum line you would have had one axle engaged, or partially, causing the hub problem..

Don't have the part numbers, can list them later if needed..

Thanks for the update....
