Default 06 5.4 spark plugs

I have an 06 F150 with a 5.4 that I want to change spark plugs on. Everyone tells me that I need to take it to a shop to have this done. Anyone ever do this themselves?

Thanks

Depends on your ability and a few tools needed. The plugs are under the COP coils which have to be removed. Sure we can help if you have any questions..

Default Spark plugs break

Thanks for the reply guys, What I heard was that they break and then have to be extracted, requiring a special tool. I'm a pretty good mechanic but not sure if what I'm hearing is true.

We have broken anywhere from 1 to all 8 when trying to remove. Usually it is just 1 or 2. We have discovered that using an impact wrench with a swivel works really well. Just do not put any downward pressure on the gun. And be sure to sort of "burp" the trigger. Since we started doing this we have not broken any plugs. I hope I have not jinxed our shop.
The extreacion tools are sold at just about any parts store now. The price has come way down on them.
