06 f-150 electrochromic rear view mirror
Does anyone know the procedure for removing this mirror from the windshield mount? or how to tighten it, it is shaking a little too much for my liking. thanks! i do not see a set screw.
There's a slot on the underside of the mirror bracket to release the tension and allow the mirror to slide off.. There is a release tool available to do the job, but you can improvise with a flat blade driver ect.. Move the mirror head all the way up position, insert the tool and gently pulltowards the interior (away from the glass) as you push or 'bump' the mirror upwards.. Here's a few pics.. The mirror head can be installed with just a 'moderate' downward bump in alignment with the mirror button.. NOT too hard.. Could be that the mirror bracket/clamp is worn and you may be able to use a thin shim to tighten the hold.. Or, a replacement head....

Thanks Hayapower for the info, unfortunately the base of my mirror has a plastic piece with wire connecting to it, does this come off to access the hole you mention? i just dont want to force anything.
