My truck wasn't running (dead battery). I needed to move it out of the street so i turned the key to accessory mode and put it in to neutral ( 90% positive i put it there) then i moved the 4x4 shifter to i think 4hi or N option. I changed the battery not to long afterwards then started it after the battery was changed and went to put it in reverse and i heard a heavy grinding noise of the gears and i tried to change the 4x4 shifter to 2 hi and it won't move or disengage. PLEASE HELP

 

You might get under the vehicle and disconnect the linkage from the transfer case and confirm the linkage is free to move then see if the lever going into the transfer case will move. Let us know what you found.
