extended crank, no start. after several tries, will start and run fine. fuel pressure regulator?

Try cycling the key on/off a few times or so, then attempt a start.. If the engine startsnormal, then the pressure/volume would be suspect.. A fuel pressure gauge installed into the schrader valve and then a pressure regulator vacuum hose disconnect, would prove out the regulator.. It would also help check for a fuel pressure bleed off when the engine/pump is shut off.. If the check valve in the tank module were bad, it wouldrequire a longer pump run to build spec pressures...

 

I'm having this exact same problem with my 01 Expedition. Only does it when I get gas. I can't figure it out.

 

Another thought would be a possible IAC motor. Again, try depressing the throttle just a little and see if it starts. If it does, then the iac needs to be replaced.
