2001 F-150 Crew Cab

Well, Hank, how are you today? I got someone to put a new fuel filter on my 2001 truck. It had not been changed since it was new, so they had a hard time taking it off. Now, the truck seems to start. The guy told me even though the original was on there, the original did not seem to be clogged. He could blow right through it. Could this have possibly been the problem? I can't believe it starts now, but I'm scared to drive it too far from my house. Thank you for any help regarding this

Usually ,, a restricted fuel filter will show up with problems where quantity of fuel required is insufficient i,e, high speed or increased load like climbing a hill. It never hurts to replace the filter on a regular basis like once a year in the fall. If it should have any water trapped in it and the vehicle is out in very cold weather the water could freeze and cause problems. If it helps maybe your shop can hook up a pressure gauge and drive the vehicle and see if they can observe anything unusual with the fuel pump.
