2002 5.4l spark plug change
I have just had a misfiring problem that got fixed when I changed my # 8 coil. I now have 84,000 miles on my truck and am going to replace the spark plugs myself instead of paying for it to be done. The problem that I am running into is the coils that are connected to them. I am looking for any info on how to remove the coils without damaging them. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
If you have the coils that sit on top of the plug, they are actually not that bad.
There will be a small bolt that holds them in place. After disconnecting the clips to the injectors and the coil itself, undo the bolt. After that the coil should lift out with a boot still attatched. You can then get to the plugs.
Do the reverse after changing the plug
