Question 2004 F-150 5.4 engine

The engine developed a severe miss. I replaced the spark plugs and boots and the fuel filter. Still misses. Took it to the ford dealer and was told #4 coil was bad and the plugs needed replacing. The service writer asked if the plugs were motorcraft, I said no. Then he proceeded to tell me that if I did not replace with ford plugs that my truck would never run right. I went home replaced the #4 coil and I still have the same miss. Is the guy blowing smoke or am I going to have to install motorcract plugs? After the road test my held analyzer read #4 cyl miss and P0304 code. Has anyone experienced this miss problem and if yes what was the resoulation? Help Please!!

Thanks for your response. Did you have to buy the motorcraft plugs from Ford or were you able to find another source? I really hate to pay over $20.00 each for new plugs. I will if I have to but I ain't gonna like it.

I believe you posted the same problem in a different thread. Have you had an opportunity to read the replies?
