2007 F150 4X4 - jerking
I have an 07 F150 4x4, 105k miles. When you get between 1250 and 1750 rpms, it starts jerking. Doesn't matter what speed I'm going. Feels like transmission slipping. The tach and speedometer don't show any change while it's doing this. I can accelerate through it. It doesn't do it all the time, but am noticing it getting more frequent. I doesn't do it in OD. Someone told us it might be the fuel filter, changed it, still doing it. Anyone have any idea?
Hi Hanky. Mostly between 40 - 50 mph but has done it at other speeds when the rpms are between 1250-1750. I was going to have the trans serviced but I've had a couple of mechanics tell me it could make it worse.
The first thing that comes to mind is the lock-up torque converter.
You just might be in that range where the converter is constantly hunting.
Trans service is something that should be done on a regular basis. If you haven't had it done, maybe it's trying to tell you it's time.
