Can anyone tell me what the ticking noise is when i either turn my A/C on or change the temperature?

We can't be sure until we verify it, but there are little motors that operate various doors in the vehicle heating and A/C system duct work.

These motors sometime strip the little gears and the doors do not move anymore AND produce a ticking sound attempting to move the doors.

Replacement is the only option.

But it has nothing to do with the doors though, it’s when i turn the A/C on and when i change from hot or cold is when the ticking happens and then it stops after a couple of seconds.

It is trying to tell you something and you could expect some problems up the road.
