Question 2014 f150 cranking but no start

I just got back from a long road trip pulling a travel trailer. I have a 2014 f150 xlt 5.0. I parked the truck at home and the next morning I was going to start it but it didn’t start. The engine cranked for the crank cycle but never fired. Pulled the fuel line off the rail and it sprays fuel and I can hear the fuel pump. Put my hand over the exhaust while it cranks and it builds pressure. Only thing I did recently was installed a plug and play remote start system and it worked well for a couple of weeks. Since that was my first suspect I removed it and tried it again. Same results. I’m still wondering if the pcm needs to be reprogrammed or reset. I tried the battery disconnect for 10 minutes method already but I’d be curious if there are other ways to reset the PCM without a diagnostic tool?

A good move would be to verify if spark is available at the plugs, then go from there.

If you have access to a multimeter, , suggest you check for the 5 volt reference voltage at the MAF sensor since it is the easiest place to get to.
The key must be on to check for this voltage that comes from the PCM. If this voltage is lost or reduced due to a problem , the vehicle most likely will not be able to start.

I used the live data feature on the scan tool and it registered a reading of the MAF during crank. Throttle position registered as well. I just had it towed to the local ford dealer and let them figure it out. It’s too cold outside to work on it myself. Still believe it’s PCM related but I guess I’ll know in a few days.

Default Problem solved

Well it was the EVAP valve assembly on the throttle body. It was dumping excess fuel in the engine causing it to flood. $70 part $50 towing and a hefty labor fee.

Default 2014 ford f150 xlt 5.0

My 2014 f150 xlt 5.0 , crank no start. I went and bought the fuel relay module and the crank sensor. I went ahead with the easiest replacement first the fuel relay module, lowered the spare, right under back drivers side tire on frame rail (2) 10mm bolts and single plug. Installed and that fixed my problem. It was about 42 bucks.

Thank You for the info.
I believe the part you described is called a Fuel Pump Driver Module..
There were a lot of problems from the place they were mounted that allowed corrosion to take place and eat through the casting.
A change in the mounting spacing for the replacement was the cure to prevent repeat occurrence.
