Were able to resolve this? I have a 2016 5.0 that does the same thing.

Unfortunately, the last poster never got back to us.

Can you do any of the procedures suggested in the preceding posts ?

I apologize. I have not resolved this issue. 3 shops, numerous calls to mechanics and no resolution. New fuel pump regulator, PVC valve, spark plugs, cylinder head temp sensor. Still no check engine lights. I guess I have to live with it.

We might just get lucky,. Can you remove the easiest spark plug to remove,When it does not fire up right away,,,,,BUT before it starts,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, we want to know if that plug is wet or dry.. If wet we have an ignition problem, if dry we have a fuel problem. Let us know what you find and we can go from there.

I've been told it could possibly be cam phasers but unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with those to make a definite call and that's a pretty hefty bill for it to not be the problem

I don't believe the cam phasers are the problem.
Anyway, if you decide to pull a spark plug , let us know, thanks.

My 2016 5.0 has this issue. New plugs were put in recently also just changed purge valve. Starts normal every morning after sitting all night. If I run it for 15-30 minutes and park for 2-3 hours it turns over long like others have stated. Anything resolved yet?

There can be problems even without a check engine light.
Not all problems will throw a code and this is where you need to know what is or is not happening and you never replied what you found looking at the plug(s) when it would not start.
New plugs can't do anything if they aren't getting fuel or ign spark signal.

I wasn't the guy in previous conversation. I just bought the truck a few months ago and gave it to a buddy who's a Ford mechanic and he replaced plugs not because of this issue. He couldn't get the truck to do the long start when he had it for a few days. Was thinking injector leaking but it doesn't idle rough?
