Default 2018 2.7L F150 Possible HPFP Failing? Bad Idle.

Hey Ford Community,

This is my first post on this account, unfortunately it's an issue with my truck and im at a dead end.

So one Saturday evening, i drove to my local mall to shop for some work attire, truck cold started up like normal at home, but once I turned my truck on a second time at the mall parking lot, i noticed a very weird hard start and idle, almost like the truck was about to die but shortly recovered and idled somewhat normal. Didn't think much of it and drove home, as soon a I got home, I left my truck on to see if it continued to idle weird, thats when I discovered a distinct ticking noise coming from the engine on the passenger side, I also noticed my truck was visibly shaking its entire cab and was idling very roughly. I open the hood and inspect the manifold area for the tapping/ticking, I initially thought the tick was coming from the two phaser solenoids above cylinder 3, but soon noticed the sound got louder and sharper the farther back I move towards the firewall. I come to find out the sound is coming from behind the engine on the passenger side behind the valve cover. I also have 2 codes related to misfires (Pictures), the misfire in cylinder 4 went away after clearing the codes then starting her up again and letting it run for 5 mins, the other stayed permanent. I am very sure its the HPFP, but I've seen that hpfp dont even make noise when they fail apparently so im currently stuck, any input is appreciated.

Im currently on a E85 tune but have checked the fuel and its at a great e88, no fuel dilution or water that caused the misfire. Drop in fuel pump turns on and primes. Ticking causes rough idle.

What you might consider,,

Have someone with a capable scan tool to check desired and actual fuel pressure readings`

There may be a problem involving the HPFP, but the readings could verify what you suspect and if they don't, you might look elsewhere for the source of the noise and rough idle problem.
