Hello,

I am looking at new F150's and looking for recommendations for towing a 5000# boat trailer. I am impressed with the mileage on the 2.7L but wondering how it tows. Also deciding between the 6 or 10 speed transmission. Any advice on this or other engines in the new Ford lineup is appreciated. Thanks in advance for your replies!

 

I have a '16 with the 2.7 and a 6 speed. Tows a 20 ft. Skeeter fine. My wife has a '18 with the 3.5 and a 10 speed and it shifts hard in 4th and 5th. If I had a choice, it would be the 6 speed.
