Ordered 2020 F-150 3.0L 10/15/19. Was told I would probably not be receiving this truck. Anyone have any idea if Ford has discontinued this engine?

 

As far as I am aware Ford has not discontinued the 3.0L diesel engine. In the workshop manual it is listed as one of the engine options. I have not seen any bulletins about problems with that engine delivery. I will say that my dealer has gotten less then five of these so far and none this calendar year. Sales may know something that us in service do not know though.
Just a little thing when you do get your vehicle and need oil changes make sure the ford dealer has the correct 5W30 DIESEL oil and DIESEL oil filter. The first time we had one come in for a oil change parts had to get the oil and filter from another ford dealer. My understanding is the oil and filter isnt used in any other ford engine so our parts department didnt know about it so didnt have it in stock. Sad I know.
