84 f150 running bad
I have a 84 ford f150,351 Windsor,4bbl,auto tranny,4WD.
I was going down the road the other day and it just died or I thought it did, when I pulled over ,it was still idling roughly. After a few seconds (mabe 40)It was like someone turned the switch back on and was running fine,on down the road it happened again and then again.
I have checked all of the vacuum lines and all seems fine,no leaks..the carb seems to be fine, getting plenty of gas.I shook all of the wires that i could get hold of and didn`t make a difference.
I have never seen one act like this, and don`t know where to go from here.
Any help would be appreciated greatly.

RE: 84 f150 running bad
Check the ignition box on the driver side inner fender area. It's about 6x6 inches wide silver looking thing with a pigtail plugged into it. That's what goes bad in those things sometimes when they act up like that. they are usually pretty cheap to buy, so it won't cost much to try it. Some of them are interchangeable between vehicles. Take one out of another car if you have access to one. Might be a fuel pump, but you said it was getting fuel. Wagz.

OK,I tried the module and no results.I also checked the plug wires although they are new and they seem to be alright.
One thing that I haven`t tried is to plug off the vacuum lines one at a time to see if there is a malfunctioning vacuum diaphragm,(apparatus),I am at a loss for a better word.
