my 87 f150 starts running ruff after about 15 or so minutes of driving I know it's a fuel problem because I sprayed starting fluid in it whoever this happens and it will fire for a couple seconds I can also Fether the gas to keep it running but after a few minutes it will start running ruff and I either have to fether it for a couples minutes or it will die I'm pretty sure it has something to do with a electronic because I thinking something is getting hot and I know it's not getting clogged because I have dual tanks and I switched them and it still did it I have changed the coil, control module distributor cap and rotor egr sensor oxygen sensor idle control valve map sensor fuel pump an sensor I thinks that's it please help

I will stay with you until we solve the problem with your vehicle. I need more info . Do know if the truck has a high pressure fuel pump? Your vehicle requires between 50 - 60 lbs fuel pressure. What kind, if any, test equip do you have? Voltmeter, fuel pressure gauge ? If you have acess to these it would be a lot easier, but if not we can still pin it down. Do you know where the fuel pump relay is located? Also the EEC power relay. I'll be waiting for your reply.,,,,,,,,,,,,hanky

Here is what we need to do.
If you can get someone to turn the key on, feel or listen, for the relay to energize. The fuel pump relay will come on , make the pump run for 2 seconds and click again coming off because you did not try to start the vehicle.
That should be the fuel pump relay.
The EEC relay comes on when you turn the key on and as long as the key is on , it stays energized.
What we want to do is confirm that you are keeping the F/P relay energized when driving.
Looking at the self test connector under the hood, if you place it so the 4 holes have the base of every hole on the bottom, the one hole on the extreme right is the connection we want to ground with the key on. That should make the fuel pump run all the time. It does use the relay to do this. If the vehicle quits after running a while jump this terminal to ground and see if the truck will run now.
If it does, either the EEC relay is bad or the connection to the relay is questionable.
Depending on what result you get will determine what we do next.

when I jumped it Shen it died I could hear the fuel pump running and when I grounded it would start better but it still acted like it did not want to start and sometimes it wouldn't

From what you are describing your problem is not with " not getting fuel". It appears to be something else. We need to verify that you are getting spark at the time this problem happens. The only way to do this is to remove one of the plug wires and check it then and there. I know you used stsrting fluid before , but an engine with good compression or intermittent spark will appear to try to run also. Let me know if you have good spark when this problem happens , OK. hanky

I'm not reLly sure on how to check for good spark but I pulled the codes up and it said that it can not detect my u2 sensor so I changed it and it still pulls it up I have checked all the wires that run to it and have found Bo problems could that be causin it to die I have also taking it to a shop and they can't even figure out what's wrong with it I am really starting to get stressed out over ir
