93 302 F150 Laundry List
Hey anyone that could help me. I drive a 1993 F-150 with about 150,000 on it. Engine seems to run fine but it seems to hate shifting gears. I've spent hours reading posts about transmissions but haven't found an answer. My truck doesn't shift like new through any gear but especially O/D when im at highway speeds, shifts in and out a ton and shifts hard. And you can always notice because it feels like it jumps up to about 5000 rpm (it doesn't have a tach) when it downshifts. This much of a RPM change seems incredibly excessive and I can watch my fuel gauge move and count the dollars, is there anything I can do to fix this? Some sort of adjustment in timing? Also the oil pressure gauge always stays at the very low end of "normal" and she always smells a little hot when we get done riding, the temperature fluctuates in the normal zone but the weather is below zero so I doubt she'll overheat
. Oil is fresh, trans fluid is fresh (did that to fix shifting but didn't work, helped a little though), I just flushed the radiator. I read in a post a while ago about some white smoke, I had that too when it was under heavy pressure, especially going up hills. It would cloud out any travelers I had behind me! Haven't noticed it lately but I'm sure it's still there, had it checked out by a couple places and put on a computer but nothing seems to be wrong!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
