I was on my way out and i got in to my truck and it started fine, but when i tried to take it out of park it would'nt move. Need help!

I have a 97 F 150 and I'm currently have the exact same problem. If you have any information on fixing this problem, please respond.

Easiest thing to do is check and see if the brake lamps light up when you hit the brakes. Plus if you turn the key to the "1" position (spot before run) it should come out of park.

 

You could always try starting the truck in neutral. It is possible that it could be an ignition problem. Other than that, when I had this problem I took my 94 5.0 f-150 into the dealership on a recal dealing with a cruise control sensor. I told the dealership that other than my ABS not working because of the bad sensor, I thought the bad sensor was causing me to not get it out of park. He said it would be the first case he's heard of. They performed the recal and no more stuck in park.

 

Usually if you step on the brake you can hear a click of the solenoind releasing the lever maybe the switch is bad. Might be able to bypass it.
