Default 96 Ford F-150 Crossmember issues

Howdy this being my first post I may as well use it as my I'm new post..so...Yeah i'm new..Anyways.

I recently got my hands on a 1996 Ford F-150 4x4 Straight Six engine and so far the main issue I'm coming up with is that the Crossmember is broken.
I'm showing you guys a picture where you can see how the bumper on the driver side sags down cause of the broken crossmember.

Well a friend of mine said that it could be rewelded but my question is would it be cheaper and easier to swap out the crossmember with a replacement or do the welding?

If it is indeed cheaper to do a Crossmember swap bout how long would that take to do it?
