Default Cylinder Head: Lash Adjuster - Bores

2009 Ford F-150 XLT
SuperCab 4x4
Modular V-8 / 5.4L - 330 Cu In (FLEX) 3V

This truck has been sitting my garage for over a year and I've finally gotten modivated enough to do something with it.
I bought this thing used so I inherited it's issues too.
Currently, the old timing components, exhuast manfolds, cylinder heads are all removed (camshaft related issues).

Never been deep into a 5.4L before so no idea what the lash adjuster bores within the heads are supposed to look like much less what's normal. After removing them I started inspecting the bore holes. At the bottom of the lash adjuster bore there's another hole, (Not the oil feed hole)...looks odd to me. On the Rt (Pass) cylinder head each of the 12 lash adjuster bores have these additional holes. Each is in a slightly different location & the hole size and shapes are differant...which I also thought was weird. Additionally, the holes are not symmetrical, it looks as thou the metal was eaten away or was punched out some how? Lt side head is the same way. Didn't notice massive amounts of metal debie from when I drained out the oil. Is this left over from the bore milling process?

If anyone that has experiance with these heads, please let me know if it’s normal or not?

Thanks for your time!
