Your engine uses coil on plug. There are no spark plug wires. The spark plugs are located down in holes just inboard of the valve covers under the coils. I think you have to remove the fuel rail to access them.

Some of these engines use a two piece design spark plug. But I think Ford discontinued this design, and now offer a one piece plug.

Changing these plugs are tricky. Do as much research as you can before attempting. It is not a straght forward procedure like the good ole days.

Ford DID discontinue the use of the two piece (which was mostly a one piece when new)plug. The newer 3 valve engines all use an honest to goodness one piece plug. It's nice to see ford finally go back to something that worked so well for the first 100 years that cars were made.

I wonder if the person(s) whose idea it was to use a 2 piece plug received a promotion for that idea?

I don't think he's asking about spark plugs, I think he's asking about wiring plugs, connections in the wiring harness itself.

This is one of those comedy situations and I have to apologize because I thought he was referring to spark plugs too.
It would help if we knew just what particular components are/were involved.
