Just picked up a new too me single cab. Truck is immaculate. Previous owner stated he put new fuel tanks with new pumps. It had led lights all the way around, I quickly put halogens back in. Truck was throwing several codes, I put a new IAC valve, new ICM, new plugs, wires, rotors and cap. Truck is still throwing a p1351 code and lean codes. Turn on the ac it runs poor, same as too using the power windows. I’ve checked the grounds and cleaned. It has got me stumped! Truck spits, sputters and pops, any hard electrical pull and it falls on its face almost too the point of stalling. PLEASE HELP!!!

 

Was the problem there before you replaced the ICM ?

What other codes were you receiving?

 

problems before was lack of power, and miss. Problems proceeded to get worse after the icm. Throwing a p0171 and p1351

 

Suggest reinstalling the original ICM. What codes did you get with the original ICM?

I would take a good look at those connections especially on the dist. One of them is the ignition diagnostic monitor
. There is a problem with that ign diag monitor circuit and that is why you are getting the P1351 code.
It could be a loose connection , an open connection ,maybe corrosion.
Not very easy to see, but maybe a mirror will help.
That wire goes to pin 4 of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

So I pulled the ecm too check for leaking capacitors. Looks like the computer has been remand and the part numbers on the chip and original casing do not match. Casing is F6TF-12A650-BC and number on the chip is F6TF-14A608-CA. Could this be my problem?

 

We always try the simple things first. Check the connections at the dist.
If you are concerned regarding the ECM, suggest checking with a dealership parts dept according to your VIN and at least they should be able to tell you if ECM is right /OK or not..
Not knowing how many people got loose in there and what they did does not help very much.
It would pay to invest in a good manual for your vehicle since the appearance might warrant the investment.
Taking things one at a time usually produces the best results..
