Default Erratic Starting on 2000 F-150

Hi, This is my first time on this forum, as today is the first wierd problem I've had with my truck.

At first I would turn the key and nothing would happen. I jump started the truck with the wife's car and it started. I replaced the battery with and brand new one and then it wouldn't start again. I place the truck in neutral rolled back a foot and it started. I put the truck in park tried to start and again nothing. I then rolled back, stopped, and then turn the keyabout 5-7 times before the truck started. I drove around for about 3 minutes, turned off the truck and then turned it back on with no problems.

At this point, I doubt it is fixed, and I've noticed that the theft light is blinking. Does the truck think I'm trying to steal it or something because I don't remember this light blinking at me in the past.

I look forward to your replies.

Possibly a bad starter or bad ignition.
