Default f 150 no brakes when engine runs

I just replaced all parts on the front and rear brakes. Drums, shoes, cylinders and hardware. Rotors, calipers and shoes. The master cylinder never ran empty. I did the rear brakes on one weekend and had a soft pedal but it still worked. I did the front this week end and when I bleed the brakes I have a solid pedal until I start the engine - then I have no pedal. With the truck off the ground the brakes do stop the wheels but there is no pedal. I've bled the system at the master cylinder and brakes. When I remove the vacuum from the booster I have a solid pedal but when the vacuum is restored I loose the pedal. Any ideas as to what I might have missed.

I don't believe you have either of those.
What I think you have is simply air trapped in the system.
What year is your vehicle? Does it have ABS? How did you bleed the system.

I've scoured the internet and as I thought it was air in the system. The bleeder valve on the driver side caliper was on the bottom. I just now took it off and gravity fed the fluid into the caliper. I just re-bled the whole system, took it for a test drive and all is good. Thank you both for your response. Hopefully my experience will help someone else.

Want you to know you just blew my mind.!
You didn't really put that caliper on the wrong side again did you? All calipers must have the bleeder screw on top, no ifs & or buts!
Either you put the calipers on the wrong side or someone gave you the wrong caliper for the side you found to be the problem.
Whatever you do please make sure the calipers are on the correct side with the bleeder screw on the top.

Default wrong part given

The store gave me two calipers for the right side. They were closed for 2 days so I had to get the truck up and running. Once they reopened Icalled and they ordered the right caliper. Been replaced and all is good. Once again thanks all.
