Default RE: f150 8.8 rearend noise

So I've been crazy busy and never got around to get pics. When I rechecked everything the shims were not scored the wayI originally thought and everything else looks good. When I spun the axles by hand it just turned the side & spider gears. I'm assuming that's why it felt the way it didas Hayapower stated, so I'm gonna throw it back together and test it out. I'll be back with the final results.

Default Really???

Well until I found this web site I thought I was the only one that had this issue. my 2000 F150 is about to destroy its 3rd passenger side rear axle.......same scene as described by others.....noise....leaking differential fluid (and synthetic grease ain't cheap)...and upon removal....perfectly notched ring around the axle where it rests on the bearing. In my scenario, I had a slide-in truck camper that stayed on the truck 24/7 for approx 3 years that weighed 1500 lbs. I also had leaf spring helpers to take care of roll stabilization. I had the 2nd passenger axle replaced and within 2 years same thing. I removed the camper and within 2years I am now faced with the 3rd axle replacement. At this point I'm thinking of changing the whole rear end. I been advised by a few different mechanics that I may have a bent axle tube..but after reading this blog I'm wandering if it's a Ford issue. any thoughts would appreciated

Default 2007 4.6 2wd F150 8.8 diff noise, I think?

Just had my 8.8 355 rat. gone through, bearings seals everything, at least that what I paid for, I still have a noise, kinda sounds like the parking brake shoes rubbing, like a schuck schuck schuck...on throttle and follows the rpms, off throttle coasting to a stop, very distinct sound not the pads because the sound doesn't go away when I step on the brakes, the so called Gear place that put the components in couldn't figure it out....strange there called SW gear hmmmm..they tried everthing..so they said...and probably would have stopped trying if I would exceeded a certain amount of money..lmfao, I am going to remove the parking brake shoes and see what happen, just wanted to see if anyone has experienced this..

p.s. This was an R and R, from the J yard, noise was not there until the swap.

Thx
