Default F150 91 Nite Idle Problem

Im here trying to figure out a problem for a coworker who doesnt have internet access.

He's got a 1991 F150 Nite with the 5.0
truck came from Nevada, doesnt have a spot of rust on it.

anyways..

he's got a major idling problem.
Not sure what it idle's at rpm range, but we've had it up to 45 without touching the gas peddle.

he's replaced the throttle repositioning sensor, another sensor which is right by the throttle repositioning sensor.

He's checked the throttle body to see if the butterfly like deal is stuck open, its not.
the idle adjustment screw on the throttle bottle is backed out enough to where it doesnt touch anything.

im not sure what to check.
i dont know a think about fords.

well thanks for all the help if someone can help me out.

Check the gasket at the base of the upper intake. Sounds like the gasket is blown out. Look for gasket material sticking outon the passenger side of the intake. That will allow unmetered air to enter and raise the idle speed.

alright i'll take a look at it.

Think i couls spray starting fluid around the area also to see if the RPM's change?

and also. the rpm's are steady, they dont fluxuate.

Thanks for the help

Anyone else have any recomendations?

Give it a shot. That's a good idea.
