I dont not recall the recall number but I believe this is not referencing the normal door latch shield recall but rather the water proofing door latch customer satisfaction recall. Its not a safety recall but rather one that a customer needs to ask for. Basically we glue three different funnels into the door to guide water away from the latch, and we silicone multiple holes that water gets in from. These doors are known for leaking water into the doors more then most vehicles, it drains out usually no problem but if you are in area that freezes the water will get into the latch and freeze causing the latch not to work, I am Louisiana so we havent had any latches freezing but a few customers have had us do this recall before they go up north.
