Fuel filter replacement HELP!
We have a 97 F-150 and my husband has been trying for two days now to replace the fuel filter. We have the tools to release the filter, but it just wont release the front! Help how do we get it to release?
I'VE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BEFORE AND THEY CAN BE A PAIN I HAD THE PLASTIC RELEASE TOOLS AND FINALLY HAD TO GET A METAL ONE AND STILL HAD PROBLEMS SPRAY PB BLASTER IN THE CLIP END AND JUST KEEP WORKING WITH IT AND HE WILL FINALLY GET IT IF IT RUINS THE SPRING CLIP IN THE FLEX LINE TELL HIM TO TAKE A DENTAL PICK OR SOMETHING SIMILAR AND PRIZE IT OUT AND GO TO THE PARTS STORE AND GET A NEW ONE AND PUT IN THE LINE JUST WATCH WHICH WAY IT CLIPS IN LET ME KNOW IF THIS HELPS
Sometimes, it helps to push the filter towards the line so that you can insert the release tool all the way past the springlock coupler. Do try cleaning it and even rolling the filter on the line to help break it loose. [sm=mail.gif]
