anyone tell me why this hole is there it's a 00 f150

sorry I thought I had a pic im 3rd owner ive only had it a month

 

Looks like a factory hole with the body plug missing. Possible somebody had some type of cable running thru it. Where is the hole actually located? Driver side, Passenger side, A picture showing a larger area would be better.
