Default Hooking to power (lights and Siren)

I am going to set up my 2012 F150 for making fire runs with a siren, switch box and radio, all the lights will run to a switch box which will have a hot wire and the siren and radio will have a hot wire. I dont really want to hook straight to the battery, any suggestions on where and how to tie into power? the lights are low power LED and pull about 4 amps a piece the siren a little more but in the old days we just hooked up to the battery. I ve heard of people geting a box and wiring everything to it an running one wire to the fuse box but just dont want to mess anything up.
Thanks
