Exclamation how to get more torque

i have a 2001 f-150 with the 5.4L and i just bought a new camper trailer and the dealer ship told me it was 1/2 ton pullable but i have problems pulling it. it weighs 7100 lbs and my tuck is totally stock. what can i do to get more touque for pulling?

I could be wrong on this , but the only thing you can change would be gearing and there is a tradeoff there. As pulling power goes up economy goes down. If you are getting around 12-14 MPG expect it to go down below 12.

Besides changing the grear ratio (depending on what you are already runnig), you could also see if there is a chip available that has a TOW program, or is programmable for towing.

You need a custom tune if you want to see real results. Programmable chips may not bring significant improvement.
