Question issues w/92 f150

Ok. so here is my problem that started right before winter. became to cold to mess around with it. Finally starting to warm up.

problems.
-mulitple tries to get it to start and stay started
-randomly would just die, ex. sitting at a stop light or something
- ran a bit rough
- really hesitate around corners like it had no power gas

whats been done. new plugs and wires, cap and rotor. i have a fuel filter that need to be put on still also. any ideas as to what may be my problem. i think its the fuel filter but is there anything else it culd also be../ thanks../

Could be a vacuum leak. Wheck the vacuum lines for leaking.

Could be a intake/plenum leak, too. You can spray something like choke cleaner around the intake/plenum seals while the engine is running and listen for an idle change.

I would also make sure that your plug wires are in the right order! I had some similar problems after putting on new headers. Its a simple mistake, and a simple fix that no one thinks of because its so simple. I had the #2 and #3 plug wires switched.

I would remove and clean the IAC with choke cleaner, sounds like it is getting coked up, then check the intake gasket or should I say upper plenium, if this is a 5.0L. They have a tendency to collapse the gasket right around the center of the upper to lower intake. Although, when this happens, I believe the symptom is a higher idle speed, unmetered air, you know.
