Default Lots of whining when I turn the wheel

I'm thinking that my power steering fluid is low on my truck. This morning when I started it up and started to pull out I noticed when I turned my wheel to the right it's a very audible whine/grinding noise. Now can someone verify what is going on? This is the first time I have heard that sound come from my truck.

Welcome to the site..

What model truck? Only audible on a right turn? First would be to check the level, and if low look for any leaks/bleeds.. Also, what the fluid looks like and any suspended debis.. If the level is in normal range, chances are the pump is failing..

It's a 1998 4.2 2-wheel drive, all stock.
