Default old pickup rebuild with aftermarket distributor...

this is the closest section of the forum i could find to what i have. 1975 Ford F-100 390 2wd. its a project weve got goin on and im trying to get it back together. its sat for 6 years and the distributor was stuck in the intake manifold and it came down to chiseling it away. long story short, we have an Accell Street Billet 52200 distributor for it but the connector and wire colors are different... its more confusing on this aftermarket one im trying to figure out which wires need to go where. stock was Black (ground) brown and orange. the Accel is black (ground) brown and red. is it as easy as connecting black to black, brown to brown then red to orange? im hoping someone else has ran into this problem before and figured it out.... im trying to get pics uploaded as soon as i can

you described it the right way brn to brn blk to blk red to orange and it should run like a new one providing that you have the timing right and the distributor set in the right place for number one piston.
