Default Questions on clutch

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking at a 87 Ford F-150, 300 6, 4 speed and after test driving it my concerns are with the clutch. When you press the clutch pedal its really stiff all the way through with no let up anywhere, and when letting off the clutch it grabs about 1 inch from the floor. The guy says it has a new clutch but my old 87 f250's clutch didnt feel this way. Should I be concerned about this? Any suggestions or comment would be greatly appreciate..

sounds to me that someone put in a manual or the old style mechanical system in it and done away with the hydraulic cylinders that came with the truck. if the clutch is new I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you...I drove it again today and I think I might just be a worry wart. I've been wanting the 300 and Im looking forward to getting a truck again...I had bought my 87 f-250 302 for 2k put an extra 195k miles on it and sold it two years ago for 1200 best $800 I ever spent....Hope to get some good services out of the 300..Thanks again for the reply...

I've got one and come to find out it has more power than any 302 that I've had. it should give you plenty of good service if you don't let it get hot.
