Default Setting Timing

Recently I installed a 302 engine ( from a 1990 E-150) into my 1994 F-150 (also orignally had a 302).What do I set the timing at? The radiator support says 10 degrees BTDC, is that what I set it at?

Default RE: Setting Timing

For me this really doesn't matter. If 10' feels, sounds, and is giving good preformance, then its good. Now you can go ahead and move it more advanced say 5' incraments, until it start pinging. Then back off a little, that should give you good performance. If you start having idle problems, like you have to idle at 800+ to keep it running. Then you need to back it off a little more until you get the best of both worlds, good upper end, and idle.
