How do you remove the actuator rod in the steering column of the 2001 f150

 

After disconnecting the battery for 15/30 minutes you would need to start at the top of the steering wheel , remove horn air bag pad , with special puller remove steering wheel and work your way down to the ign tumbler.
This is not the kind of job you would want to get involved in if you don't have the right tools and some experience. It is a somewhat lengthy job and a lot of shops will swap out the whole top section because of the time involved. You might want to check u-tube for a video showing what is involved.
