Is it possible to get the grill from another package? I have a stock chrome grill on my XLT package (wasn't my first choice) I really wanted the sports package but the only lot that would give me a good amount for a trade in only could trade in for a normal package (chrome everything besides side mirrors) but I was curious if I could buy a stock sports edition grill (black) off of eBay if it would bolt up and fit along with bumpers of course.

 

As long as the grill is actually for a 2015 it seems like it should be Plug-n-Play. Just be patient on the removal and install as there's a lot to it. The biggest thing will be the dampers behind the grill and who know what else is connected to it.

 

Hmm well thank you I appreciate it what are your views on plasti dipping? I'm really considering doing it just don't want a cheap out come on a brand new rig.

 

The only thing I would see wrong with Plasti-Dipping a grill is if you want to take it off. It may be a little hard to get off if you have a grill with a lot of nooks and crannies. You would still need to remove the grill to do it. Otherwise, you may get it on your dampers and make them in-operable. Since you would be taking the grill off anyways, you could always paint and color match your existing grill or use a different one.

Back in 2000 when I repainted my 88 Ranger with Torador Red Pearl over black primer (gave it a black cherry color), I painted all of my chrome items semi-gloss black with paint made by SEM.

 

Just any spray paint will do?

 

I don't know about just any spray paint working. I know that SEM makes automotive spray paints for plastic interior and exterior use.

If you want to avoid painting your could look into FL3Z-8200-AA (FL3Z8200AA | FL Grille) or FL3Z-8200-JA (FL3Z8200JA | FL Grille). They are both black grilles.
