05 F250 6.0L no start... good cranking
2005 F250 6.0L .....NO START
I have had the truck since 100k miles in 2008, now 220k. Truck is bone stock motor wise, Newer turbo, . Survived 2 divorces with me its now just a farm truck but don't want to let her go.
about 2 years ago left me on the side of the road $700 later after a tow and diagnoses a new IPR was installed .
Not doing that again !! truck is back on the farm now
Leading up to this latest episode truck has been having "turbo farts" and just like last time it suddenly lost power and cranks but will not fire . Was running fine up until that point to the fact on my way to the local dump I said as rusted as she is , its still running good !
Batteries are strong, cranks quickly has the upgraded starter just doesn't fire.
Any step by step check list for troubleshooting would be great , have time time but not the $$ to take to a diesel mechanic. Don't mind getting my hands dirty.

UPDATE just watched a video .....I'm screwed no high end scan tool, only OBD2 reader, GFB if its the HP oil pump, FICM or Air leak.......
The stan tube o ring failure seems to be a common fault
can only imagine the costs associated . maybe time to let her rest peacefully in the pasture.

You don't need an expensive scan tool.
ForScan Lite is a $6-$7 download to a smartphone. Then you need an OBDII adapter, and what you choose will depend on what device the software will be installed on.
The OBDLink MX+ adapter works on all platforms and is about $90. There are cheaper choices, but even $90 is not much at all for what you get.
Torque Pro is also good.
Then we need to see cranking data .......
Cranking rpm
Cam/Crank Sync
FICM Sync
FICM MPower
FICM LPower
FICM VPower
Injector Pulse Width command
ICP sensor volts
ICP pressure, psi
IPR % Duty Cycle
v-reference voltage.
These 11 parameters can give us a pretty good idea as to the possible issue(s).

Changing out standpipes or dummy plugs, or even the STC on the HPOP discharge is not a major repair.......and definitely not a reason to condemn the truck.

A Windows laptop with the full version of ForScan has the most features and is best if you commit to learning about it. The "USB to OBDII" adapter is best with the laptop IMO.
The Lite version on a smartphone is easier and pretty good in its own right. You just can't command actuators or shutdown individual injectors with the Lite version.
