1979 F250
So I just bought a '79 F250 about a week ago. It was having issues charging so I put a new alternator, battery, and voltage regulator on it. I'm still having problems getting it to charge. Any Ideas?
Check the 'fuse link' at the starter solenoid/battery connection and for applied current at the alternator lug.. With the engine running, unplug the voltage regulator and jump the A&F terminals shown on the connector.. This is an issolation test, and the system will/should go to full charge if the circuits have no 'opens' and the ALT is good..
Thnx for the tip. Got it all figured out...alright so i bought a brand new regulator and it turned out that that one was bad...exchanged it for a new one. I need to put a new connector on for the regulator cause part of it's melted but it's charging now nonetheless.
