1989 F-250 O2 sensor location
I just bought a great old pickup for my son, and I had it smogged today. The idle is a bit rough, but it passed. The tech told me that it may be a tired O2 sensor, so I went to Kragen Auto Parts and bought one. When I got home, I couldn't find where the O2 sensor was!
Can anyone help me, or do I have to buy a Chiltons manual before I can change the sensor?
Any help will be appreciated! Jim

do you know which one is bad? there is one on each bank, and is there a check engine light on? most of the guys who work at those places have almost no idea what they are talking about, i'm not saying that he is wrong, i am saying you may be puting something on that the truck doesnt need, to find them all you have to do is follow your exhaust from your engine, there should be one almost right after each exhaust manifold, and then there should be one after each cat.

Depends on the engine, but I think there is one on most v-8's that era located in the little 3/4 inch crossover pipe where y-pipe comes together at the 1st converter. If so good luck getting it out of pipe without damage to threads..
