Ford F-250 & Ford F-350The heavier duty full sized trucks from Ford, offering bigger, more powerful engines and drivetrains for the abuse they may go through in the workplace.
Hello All... I'm new to the forum i have been looking around and getting familiar with this F250. I just got it about 4 months ago. I also own a 76 Bronco midway through restoration. I bought this from my father in law who got this form his dad, who bought it new in 1995. Truck has been a challenge thus far. I have had broken bolts in headers, new headers, replaced both gas tanks and pumps, new complete exhaust and new plugs and wires. My current frustration is I have a front TTB ifs axle question that has stumped me for two+ weeks. So father in laws ex wife sideswiped a semi ( i know right) so the front axle TTB is bent on the passenger side. He purchased a used front and rear axle to replace the current ones which have a high gear ratio. Problem for me is i cant tell what year the axle is. I believe its an 86, even though he said it was an 87. Rotors for and 87 which i purchased are a hair to big for calipers, 86 fits just perfect. I have installed new ball joints, bearings and races for front spindles, new rotors, new calipers and pads. Clean it all up and looks looks good. Problem i have is when i pulled out the drive shaft on the passenger side. A seal came out with the axle. It appears the oil seal is still in the pumpkin and this seal looks like it slips over the axle when you put it back in. I have spoken with everyone i know and we cant find a pic or diagram of this seal informing of what the part number is. I'm thinking this axle is a 86ish Dana 44HD. I have attached pics of the seal that come off end of the axle and the schematic below i have circled the seal Im speaking about... any help in identifying the seal and what possible front axle this is and maybe even year would be Awesome...thank you for your time, Wes.
