Have a 1999 250 superduty 5.4 gas auto. ext. cab. 127000 miles.Last July A/C quit. Would not defog windows or get cool when needed. Had almost everything put new at Ford dealer. New compressor and clutch was included in this replacement. Ever since this the first time every day a/c kicks in it makes a grinding sort of noise for about 2-4 seconds.( Sort of like if you kicked a aluminum can across a concrete driveway) It only does this 1 time a day, the first time the unit turns on every day. You can hear it even with windows up. Dealer says new clutch just has to be used to break it in. I dont drive it much anymore, only put about 1200 miles since this was done, and this time of year a/c dosent run much. Usually use it most when pulling camper.. Does anyone know if this is correct.Or do I have a faulty clutch like I suspect? Warrenty runs out this July.Should I go to the dealer manager about this? Or has anyone had this happen and it clear up with use, as mine is not getting much they say.Thanks...
