2000 F250 7.3 Steering Trouble
Yesterday when I parked my truck the steering was fine. Today I can't make it turn right, but it turns left just fine.
It has been suggested that the power steering valve may be stuck.....?
Anybody have a different idea? Does a stuck power steering valve sound reasonable?
I appreciate any help I can get!

There is a piece in the top of the steering box called a spool valve. This reacts with every motion of the steering wheel and directs hydraulic assist pressure to assist steering effort.
If it breaks a sealing ring the hydraulic assist is lost or can even fight assist in one direction. There is a physical connection between the steering shaft and the spool valve , therefore the valve cannot "stick".
Either the top of the steering box has to be disassembled and repaired or the steering box replaced with a rebuilt unit. This can be a difficult job without the correct tools.

Thanks for the direction! I have no illusions of doing the work myself, a professional is needed for the job.
I do have another question: If the hydrolic sealing ring is busted, somehow ruptured, or lost its integrity, does it have an effect on the truck's brakes? While the right turns are painfully difficult, they are much more difficult when braking......

After an $800 visit to my local dealership yielded a new (rebuilt) steering box. It was indeed the spool valve that was causing the issue. Thank you so much for giving me a clear answer to my question!
