2000 ford f-250 super duty 4x4 a/c problem
The air conditioning in my truck works great on higest fan setting and highest cooling setting for about 10 minutes, then air gets hot. Hotter than outside temperature. During the cold working good time the A/C blows VERY, VERY COLD. So cold that I try and control the climate by turning down the fan setting 1 or 2 notches and or turning down the temp control ****. When I try and control the temp, the air gets very hot and no more cold air. Can someone give me advice to where I can save some money? We all know the dealership charges are high, especially in todays economy. I can afford to work on my truck. I like repairing my own vehicle.

Similar Problem
My same model and year F-250 AC started causing Fuse 24 to blow. Fuse 24 controls several circuits like ABS system.
I replaced the fuse a couple times after trying to unplug, clean, and reconnect the fan plugs, the plug to the sensor to the receiver/dreyer sensor.
The AC compressor will run for a few seconds then stop when the fuse blows. It also engages the clutch in a fast on off duty cycling. I will play with the system over the weekend to see if I find a solution.
On my truck, it turned out not to be an AC problem rather the ABS speed sensor on the rear axel. The AC going out was a symptom to another problem but not the actual problem itself. The AC and ABS sensor, along with the cruise control, trailor tow relay, and a couple other circuits share FUSE 24. I wish ford would design their circuits to be circuit specificn instead of intermingled but I guess it's a way for them to save money.
So there is a fix for y'all
