Welcome to the site..
The 7.3 is a great engine if it’s had regular interval services, fed clean fuel consistently, and was cared for.
My questions would be..
Are there any service docs that accompany or can track it health care?
How was it used,, towing/hauling heavy?
Who owned it, how many owners if known? ( I tend to shy away from the lifted, huge tired, gauged out panels/pillars platforms)
Original paint, or repainted etc.
Is it a 4x4, and if so, has it been used as such meaning lightly/mod, of more extensively?
Is it an automatic, and assuming it is, trans services were very important and if at 200k has it been overhauled or replaced? If neither, the trans may be the weak link.. More so when used in severe duty apps. The trans was good performer as well, again, if cared for.
If not much is known about the truck, taking to someone for a general look over is cheap insurance. If you can post a few images or a video walk around and interior footage , as well as running/driving would help with a formed opinion.
All n all a great truck, solid and reliable, but they are aging out. Key is to find one that’s been treated well, maybe with some repairs already completed that you won’t be required to cover the costs of.
When ever the question of a higher mileage sweet running 7.3 truck comes up, trans is usually my first thought because it’s a fairly high ticket item.
Like they say, a picture/s is worth a thousand words. Post’m up!
