Default 2003 F-250 instrument cluster...

The instrument cluster on my 2003 F-250 acts crazy when I first start it... only when it is really cold outside. All of the gauges max out for a few seconds, then go to nothing for a few seconds, then go to normal. It even resets the tripometer. Do I need to look for a loose ground wire somewhere? It doesn't effect the radio. The truck starts fine, but makes a funny noise just after it starts, (sounds like starter)for a few seconds... but only when it is really cold outside also. Any ideas? Thanks, Mike

Thumbs up Thanks Mark...

I'll give that a try. I'll let you know if it does the trick. Mike

Did you ever figure out why your instument panel was acting up? Mine is doing the same thing. Only thing is I just had a alarm/ start system put in and it started it right after. The installer has checked it twice and said all the wiring is correct?
At first all the gauges would go off but now it's usually the tach and the Tranny gauge that go off. The check gauges light and the Check engine light comes on, but no codes?
Been doing this since I had the alarm start system put in.
