Default 2008 F250 E-Brake light

I have a 2008 F250 (5.4l - F4 model) and when I set the emergency break the light comes on, then when I release the break the light doesn’t want to shut off. Giving a message, emergency break is on. Most of the time I can depress the e-break and release it several times getting the light to go off.

I assume it is a switch issue but I haven’t been able to find it. Any ideas where I can get started?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like your parking brake switch is sticking, look under the dash where the parking brake pedal is, I couldnt find a good diagram nor directions for removing it but it should be pretty obvious.
You could remove it, push the plunger in and watch how it releases quickly/smoothly to see if its very obvious the switch is binding.
You can test for continuity of the switch when the plunger is pushed in and released. Pushed in closed circuit, Released open circuit.
