Default 2008 f350

My 2008 F350 4x4 6.4L has a couple of things that have popped up recently. Once the transmission reaches about 165deg the temp drops too -40 and the clutch fan comes on if I hit a bump or sit in a parking lot it will shut off but if I hit another bump or start driving again it will come back on. Are these connected? I would understand if the temp went up but -40 and it’s 70deg outside. I have looked at some other posts about the trans temp but non of them talk about the clutch fan.

I believe the -40 problem could be caused by a loose connection at the sensor.
